DMV Checklist for Kowledge Test

(To get your learner’s permit)

 

AGES 15-1/2 TO 17-1/2:

Before heading to the DMV you will need to go online to begin the Driver’s License / ID Card application process. At some point in the application process the DMV will instruct you on what documents to gather. You will also be asked to make a DMV appointment and a confirmation code will be given to you. At your appointment you will finish the rest of the driver’s license application process.

(Tip: Arrive prepared to have your picture taken because your future license picture is taken on this day.)

What you will need to bring to DMV to take your Knowledge Test:

  • REAL ID Online Application code given to you

  • Pink Driver’s Ed Certificate of Completion (DL 400C)

  • Proof of Identity (such as birth certificate/passport)

  • Social Security Number

  • Two Proofs of Residency containing your name and address

  • Any other documents the DMV requested, see full checklist here

  • Correct fee for the DMV, presently $45

  • When you arrive at the DMV go to the APPOINTMENTS window inside
